history of innovation

10 years in the life. A continuity is to be found in the dimension of time. Anniversaries are of course shot through with retrospection and nostalgia, and grand anniversaries of the kind we are marking in 2005 seem at first sight to give particular priority to the past over the present and the future. Yet the creative thinking that Argentum exists to encourage is a future-driven business: from its vantage point in the present, such thinking, irrespective of the business, looks forward into a world of possibility. We hope that Argentum is able to congratulate itself on its future as well as its past. Now is the moment for us to project ourselves into the next ten years.

Argentum Backup 2.50 review has been published in the September issue of PC Magazine (USA). "...If you have better things to do than wrestle with backup, then the raw simplicity of Argentum Backup 2.50 will please you immensely. A lightweight backup program that consumers will understand how to use intuitively. Simplicity is half the battle with backup, and Argentum has it down..." The original content for the article is a licensed property of Ziff-Davis Media Holdings Inc., so we're not going - nor have a right - to re-publish it on our web-site, unfortunately. Argentum is proud to be recognized with this prestigious magazine. It's our goal to continue providing you with high quality software and services. Our thanks go to everyone who has and is helping us with Argentum Backup, and to anyone who has contributed in whatever way.

We are pleased to announce a new section at our web-site, which consolidates all of the available backup resources on our web-site. This section serves as a common index (repository) for all backup articles available on our web-site. The information is primarily intended for home and small office business users running any Microsoft® Windows® operating system, including Windows® 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000, XP, and 2003.
Currently this section includes links to all of the pages from both Windows Backup Guide and Backup Software Reviews, and it also features the following all new articles: "Backup basics", "Getting started with Windows Backup", "Microsoft Backup basics", "Backing up to DVD drives", and more. This selection is expected to grow over time, so check back often. It is important that you get into the habit of backing up your files on a regular basis. Backing up is easy when you know the subject.

To provide you with better software and services, Argentum has recently joined the Association of Shareware Professionals (ASP), the world's number one trade organization for independent software developers and vendors. Since 1987, the ASP has been dedicated to the advancement of try-before-you-buy software, as an alternative to conventional retail software. Today the ASP is an organization with hundreds of members around the world working together to improve their businesses and making it easier for computer users to find quality software.
ASP members are known world-wide for creating quality software at reasonable prices. If you are tired of buying retail software that isn't as good as the picture on the retail box, and that doesn't quite meet your needs, then discover the world of try-before-you-buy software. Save time and money with the try-before-you-buy method. In fact, try-before-you-buy software has been discovered by traditional "shelfware" companies, and now, nearly every large software company provides some type of free trial version of their software. It's more than a free trial, it's a free trial that you can share with your friends.

Argentum Backup 2.50 is now available for download. Perhaps the most significant innovation is full support for strong 128-bit and 256-bit AES symmetric encryption modes to securely protect your sensitive data in Zip backup files. AES is the Advanced Encryption Standard, which is the result of a three-year competition sponsored by the U.S. Government's National Institute of Standards (NIST). AES has been approved by NIST as a Federal Information Processing Standard for use by the U.S. government, businesses, and individuals. More:
