Windows Vista™

"Windows Vista will transform the way people work and play," said Bill Gates, chairman of Microsoft. "Personal computers have become a key part of the daily lives of almost a billion people worldwide. Millions of consumers had a hand in helping us design, test and create the most exciting version of Windows we've ever released. Windows Vista squarely addresses the needs and aspirations of people around the globe."

Windows Vista™, a new operating system from Microsoft, has been released to consumers in January 2007. This note is to let you know that all Argentum products, namely Argentum MyFiles™, Argentum™ Backup, and Argentum Coolbase™, are fully Windows Vista compatible. Running Argentum products on a new Windows Vista makes it faster and easier than ever before to find, use, manage, back up, share, and enjoy information on your PC. Windows Vista features dramatic graphic enhancements to the interface that make the desktop more visually exciting and significantly easier to use. In today's digital world, you want the PC to adapt to you, so you can cut through the clutter and focus on what's important to you.

The launch marks the achievement of an unprecedented collaboration between Microsoft and its customers and partners, and ushers in an era in which personal computing is easier, safer and more enjoyable than ever before.

Art of William Bouguereau

A new art wallpaper collection for your desktop has been released by MoodBook. It features paintings by William Bouguereau, a French academic painter. His polished, refined technique and his sophisticated style represented the height of achievement in the French academic art tradition. His work was characterized by a highly finished, technically impeccable realism and a sentimental interpretation of his subject matter. Bouguereau paintings look professional, very skilful, and almost real. He masterfully brought together the elements of exquisite drawing, incredible coloration and perspective, and brilliant modeling and compositions.

Bouguereau received many honours in the 1860s and '70s as his career progressed; he exhibited regularly at the Salon for several decades and became for a time the most famous French painter of his day. As a proponent of official orthodoxy in painting, he played a major role in the exclusion of the works of the Impressionists and other experimental painters from the Salon. He exerted a wide influence, not only in France but in other countries, particularly the United States. In 1876 he was made a member of the Academy of Fine Arts.

Art of Edvard Munch

A new art wallpaper collection for your desktop has been released by MoodBook. It features paintings by Edvard Munch, a Norwegian Symbolist/Expressionism painter, whose intense, evocative treatment of psychological and emotional themes was a major influence on the development of Expressionism in the early 20th century. Munch's art is now considered a significant force in modern art. His art is simple, direct, and vigorous in style, yet powerful in essence and in subject matter. Munch's art works penetrate beyond external appearances to the inner conditions of the subjects he painted.

The purpose of Expressionism and Symbolism is to show emotions that the artist feels in hopes that the viewer will be stirred and feel them as well. The artist is not concerned with reality as it appears but with its inner nature and with the emotions aroused by the subject.
